Benzoyl Peroxide (BP) is a topical medication commonly used for the treatment of acne. It is available in different forms including gel, cream, and wash. BP works by releasing oxygen, which kills the bacteria responsible for acne. It also helps to exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin cells and unclogging pores. Additionally, BP can normalize the process of keratinization (formation of skin cells), which may contribute to the development of acne lesions.
